Whirlwind of a Weekend

Whew, what a busy busy weekend!

Troy and I went to Hendersonville this weekend. It is the only weekend this month that we'd be able to visit and it had been a while since we'd been home.

We left Friday after I kept Elisabeth for a bit and after T got done with school.

We stopped in Jackson for dinner at Chick-fil-a. We had coupons for 2 free sandwiches and thought it'd be a quick dinner stop. Plus, we can never get enough Chick-fil-a Sauce.

We finally got to Hendersonville and it was kinda a weird feeling because we hadn't been there in so long. A surreal moment: we pulled out Troy's old CD case in his car and listened to a band we loved listening to in high school. It was like we were back in our high-school-dating-days. Driving down Indian Lake Blvd in his mustang listening to Taking Back Sunday. It was a refreshing feeling :)

We spent the weekend staying at Troy's family's house. We got there and visited for a while before going over to my parents house and visit with them for a little bit.

Macy apparently has a new toy that she is obsessed with. Mom says she keeps it in her mouth basically all day except when she's eating/drinking or if she goes outside. I'm telling you… that dog is a mess. A diva. All my Mom's fault though :) haha, Mom will even admit to that!

Rochelle telling one of her infamous stories… "to make a long story longer" if you will. See Rob, Laine, and Abby--this is where I get it from!

Saturday morning Brittany and I had planned to go and take some pictures of Averi. She turns 18 months Sept 16, so we thought this weekend would be a great time to take pictures for that "milestone".   To our great dismay, we woke up to a rainy, soakin' wet Saturday morning. We thought we'd at least attempt it--hoping that by the time we got to where we wanted to shoot it would lighten up. Nope. So I just took a picture from our drive… Averi in her carseat :)

She is saying "cheeeeeese"!

When we got back to the Watson house, she played for a bit before going down for a nap.

Here is she talking on her phone, aka a calculator...

Averi and Gradey :)

For the outsiders: The Watson Brothers love playing basketball. Just about every Saturday morning, Lawson and a group of guys play at Ellis's gym. So, while Brittany and I were debating about rain and pictures, and how that'd work out… the boys were playing ball until about noon.

(Part of me thinks that T suggested going to H'ville this weekend, solely to play basketball at Ellis Saturday AM… hmm… either that or Lawson got the new Madden game and they wanted to play and talk smack to each other. Boys will be boys. Even if they are married.)

Once the boys got home, we had lunch, then all went bowling. Troy's dad suggested that for a good, rainy-day activity that would be fun for all ages… even little Averi!

When we got there, there was a wait for lanes, so we took Averi to play in the soft play.

I'd be lying if I said only Brittany took her through the tunnels… Nana got up there and crawled around, too :)

We finally got our name called saying we were ready to play! I, of course, bowled TERRIBLE… I. AM. A. TERRIBLE. BOWLER. I scored 59. Yes, 59.

Troy ended up winning with a crazy twist of events. On his last bowl, he was down by 17 with Lawson in first… but he ended up with a strike on the last round beating Lawson by 1 point.

Averi did really well just playing and talking and watching everyone while we bowled.

Here she is again saying "cheeeeese"! She shows all her teeth when she "cheeses" :)

Cheeeeeeese on repeat!

Action shots ;)

Justa talkin' with momma...

Lovin on daddy...

With Nana and Papa

Telling me all about something I'm sure… ;)

We went back to the Watson house and watched some college football for a bit before going to the Hayes house for dinner…

Oh, Reece. Just had to document this. Loafers, croakies, and a mustache.

Everyone at dinner :)

So glad Reece and Courtney could come!

After dinner we headed to my Nana and Pappy's to see them while we were in town. Plus, Reece still hadn't seen their new home since they moved in June.

Welcome to our family… we're all sitting around with the blood pressure machine, taking each other's blood pressure. Ohhh me…

I just had to get out my camera and document this… this is the Hayes family for ya, don't judge.

We headed back to the Watson house shortly after and visited a bit before heading to bed.

Sunday we got up and when to Long Hollow with my Mom, Dad, Reece and Court, then had breakfast over at the Watsons.

We ended up going back over to my parents house for a bit--my Papa was coming over there and wanted to see us. We also tried to see Troy's Maw, but she was never home when we drove by the house/called her. She just goes, goes, goes… and will hopefully go, go, go and go to Memphis! :)

We finally left around 1:00 and got to our house around 4:00, then it was go time for me and Troy. He had some things he needed to do around the house--mow grass, fix the lamppost lantern in our front yard, etc. and I needed to unload and unpack everything, do laundry, wash sheets, pack T's lunch, figure out where in the world to put all my fall/winter clothes I brought back with me… :) etc. Let's be honest… there's always something to do!

We had a good weekend, very busy and jammed packed, always trying to see and visit with someone, but hey, it's a blessing to have that problem! :)

Troy and I are debating next time were home, having an "open house" and just tell everyone, "Hey, were going to be _________ on Saturday from ____ to ____. If you can come see us then, great, if not, too bad… haha, totally kidding!!

Now, we're watching the Broncos game, Troy is pulling for Peyton because he is his fantasy football QB, we had frozen pizza for dinner, laundry is STILL going… and we're about to hit the hay. Honestly, we're worn out from this busy, fun, busy weekend :)

(Did I say busy?!)
