Our Labor Day Weekend!

I hope everyone had a great 4-day Labor Day Weekend. Long weekends are nice, aren't they?!

Here's a little of what we were up to…

Friday I picked up Elisabeth from school and we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch. This girl played and played in the play area. There were 3-5 girl around her age in there and they had a big time. Funny story: I gave her a warning of 5 minutes before we were going to leave. After the 5 minutes were up I told her we were going to head back to the house. She came down from the tunnels and got her socks and shoes. She came out to the booth and I helped her put them on. We were about all ready to go and she asked if she could "go hug her friends bye"-- I thought that was so sweet! She didn't know them before, but after they played for so long, she considered them "friends". So cute!

I tried to get a picture of her so you could see her "dog ears"--they are not pig tails… I made the mistake of calling them that when I picked her up :) She was sure to correct me. Haha!

Playing so hard! She has been having trouble sleeping through the whole night recently--I'm sure that night she got good sleep… she had to have been worn out for playing non-stop!

That night UT had their first game of the season… and I'm happy to say they won! In honor of the win,   I wore this throwback-t from 1999--National Champs, baby! I hope they have a good season… we shall see...

Saturday morning Troy headed to school pretty early to study for his first exam that is Tuesday (tomorrow!!). We house/dog sat this weekend, so I took advantage of the sun (although it did not last long--it rained later in the day) and layed out at the pool.

I had two friends with me… Odie sitting on the chair with me...

and Goldbug basking in the sun.

Saturday night Troy and I went to dinner.

We LOVE bang bang shrimp at Bonefish… I don't even care for seafood, but I love this shrimp!

That night we watched his favorite college team--Michigan-- play Alabama. Unfortunately, Troy's team didn't get the victory like my team did… He still looked cute in his Michigan shirt :)

Other avid football game watchers… Ralph the cat, Goldbug, and Odie… Troy really should have been a veterinarian… I swear all animals love him!

He's always called himself a "dog whisperer"… I guess now he could be a "cat whisperer", too!

Sunday we ended up not going to church, but I listened to Long Hollow's service live online with David Nassar speaking… a great message!

Troy continued to study…

That evening we went to Sweet Cece's for fro-yo.

Yes, we both have our glasses, t-shirts, and athletic shorts on… and no makeup for me… we were about ready to go to sleep :)

This picture just makes me laugh… Goldbug was sitting in Troy's lap, resting her head on his shoulder. I don't think she quite realizes that she's not a lap dog :)

Monday, Troy headed back up to campus yet again to get his last full-day of studying in… I went for a run at Shelby Farms while he was gone.

Tonight we went to the Delta Fair. We both have never been to a fair and we decided to check it out. It was fun… LOTS of people watching, haha, but we both decided we'd probably never go back.

I fed the goats (one of the FEW free things :-))

And you can't go to the fair and not get some type of fair food… I avoided the "fried" things, and got a caramel apple!

I hope everyone had a great weekend… and just think, now its just a 4 day work-week: :)

(and just because… I came across the picture on the left-- a pic from our 2007 Jr Prom… and then a pic from our 2012 wedding day! I think we still look about the same, even with the 5 year difference. So thankful for him!)
