Yesterday Elisabeth and I spent the gorgeous fall day at the park. She was out of school for parent/teacher conferences and we ended up seeing 4 or 5 other kids from BCS at the park, too! I guess when schools out, all head to the park to play!
She found these pretty fall leaves… can't believe the leaves are already changing colors!
We went to McDonalds for lunch and she enjoyed playing in their play area, too. There were lots of kids there while we were, which she always enjoys! (Because if other kids aren't there… she wants me to climb through the tunnels! :))
I couldn't help but think of when I was her age (or a little younger) Dad would take me and/or Reece once he was born, to McDonalds every Saturday morning to eat and play. It gave Mom time to get stuff done around the house/for herself that she never got around to during the week because she was trying to keep up with the kids. Such special memories… Laine, we have our dads to thank for our love of food, right?! It all started with pancakes and sausage from Mickey D's!
(Another funny bit to the story: Because we always went on the same day, at the same time, the workers were usually the same. One time Mom came along on our weekly morning date. One of the ladies that worked ended up asking Dad who she was… Dad said, "my wife". The lady thought Dad was a sweet single dad that took his daughter/kids to breakfast every Saturday. Dad was sure to inform her, no, he had a wife since '86, and I had a momma!)
