Chicken 'n Dumplings

Another one from my momma's cookbook…

Chicken 'n Dumplings

Mom really doesn't have many measurements with the recipe, so you kinda just go with it…

You can use canned chicken broth OR, what I did, boil fresh chicken and then use that as the broth.

Bring the broth to a rolling boil.

Now the dumplings part: you can either use Bisquick mix and milk to make the dumplings or use a small can of biscuits. I've done it both ways… but this time I used canned biscuits.


Drop small pieces of biscuits (or teaspoons of Bisquick mixture) into the boiling broth.
Lower to medium heat.



Add 1 cup of milk and 1/2 stick of butter.


Add cooked chicken (Like I said earlier, I boiled fresh chicken (about 6 tenderloins). You could also use canned chicken.)


Add salt and pepper to taste!
