Monday, Tuesday

Monday Troy had his test he'd studied all weekend for. Once he got back, we made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and watched FNL on his iPad.

Later in the day, we went and saw the movie Unconditional. Its one of those low(er) budget, Christian movies which we usually enjoy seeing. In my opinion, this was not one of the best, but still had a great message.

Two cool things about the movie: the producer/director of the movie's parents go to the church we've been going to… Faith Baptist in Bartlett (although this past Sunday we tried Bellvue Baptist again. We're just all over the place!) And the movie is based on a true story about a guy from Nashville and his heart for at-risk children. We recognized where some of the filming took place, including the projects right by the Titans stadium--close where we always park when going to games. Troy also said he believed he did some flooring work there when he installed carpet, hardwood, tile, etc. one summer. Its always fun recognizing things from your hometown, even if it is subsidized housing areas!

When we got back from the movie, we started dinner and got ready to watch the Cowboys. Troy made hot wings as usual and I made this really good corn dip. Here's the recipe:

Warm Corn Dip Recipe:

2 (11 oz) cans mexicorn, drained
2 (7 oz) cans of chopped green chiles, drained
1/2 c. Monterrey jack cheese, shredded
1/2 c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c. mayo
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix together in large bowl then put in square baking dish. Bake 30-40 minutes on 350 degrees, until bubbly. Serve with corn or tortilla chips.

The Cowboys game ended terrible--Tony Romo threw 5 interception--that'll getcha! I hated the loss even more because Troy's parents were at the game! They sent us this picture…

Today, Troy had to go in to school extra early to work a flu clinic. He administered flu shots to UT staff and students. Last night, he was practicing on me, each step in the shot process--minus the actual needle… I'm telling you, I'm his little experiment! He has to give 10 shots a year for school… he gave 40 today during his hour of work!! Thats a lot of shots!! The bad part is, he signed up to give shots at The Med tomorrow because he was afraid he might not meet his quota… so he's giving more shots tomorrow basically for no credit. Oh well… its still good experience! I plan on getting my flu shot from him soon!

I spent my day with Janie. It was b-e-a-utiful out so we spent most of our day outside!

We played "soccer ball", jumped on the trampoline, rode the bike, and collected lots of acorns from the back yard… all while wearing fairy wings :)

Tonight Troy and I have been watching lots of TV on demand… trying to get caught up on some shows we like.

Ta-tah!
