My childhood dream came true!

Who remembers the book series, and the 1995 movie, The Baby-sitter's Club?!

Ooooh man, I loved the idea of a group of girls that were all babysitters and got to spend their days playing with and taking care of kids.

I bought a book from Barnes and Noble when Opry Mills first opened (circa 2000) that gave ideas and tips for babysitting. I was planning on that book being the foundation of my up-and-coming business. I even specifically remember having conversation with Alex Poore and Meghan Connors about us starting our own babysitter's club. It was an ambitious dream of mine to be a full-time babysitter as a 10 year old.

Yesterday that dream came true!

I got to keep 2 little girls from two sweet families.

Here is Elisabeth, of whom I've gotten to play with a lot this summer (as this blog knows, ha!)

She is a blushing bride here, can't you tell?!

Little story I posted on Facebook about E becoming a bride…

"I kept E this morning. She has a keyboard in her playroom that has prerecorded songs to play along with. By random combo of numbers she played the wedding march and knew exactly the occasion of which it was played as soon as she heard it. R
ight then and there she was transformed into a bride, thanks to her dress up closet. Love the playfulness and imagination of a little girl-I was the exact same way and would dress up and play wedding with my dance tutu/skirt above my head. Ain't that right, @Rochelle Elgin Hayes?!"

I loved "watching her walk down the aisle with her husband", i.e. walking from her bedroom, down the hall, into the playroom, as the music was playing, as she was holding a stuffed princess pig. I played wedding and being a bride a lot as a little girl… believe me we have video coverage to prove it. I'd put my tutu/tulle skirt that I'd wear to dance at American Academy over my head and slowlyyyy walk down the stairs, down the hallway… really wherever I could get an audience.

Precious for me to reminisce and realize that my "playing" and "imagining" of a wedding as a little girl really did come true this past May! :)

E pretending to be a bride
Me playing dress up as a bride
And both of us when I'm really a bride!
After keeping E, I went and played with Miss Janie! It was my first time to be with her and we had fun!  We got Chick-fil-a for lunch, played "school" i.e. wearing a backpack around the house and flipping through books, and went swimming. She is a little fish!

Love spending time with these girls… they both are very social, talkative, happy, "Miss Personality" little babes! And they also gave me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of being a professional babysitter ;) haha
