I had such a fun week for my birthday that was on Thursday. I started my b-day celebration by going to eat at Salsa with Robin. Enjoyed food, conversation, and friendship!
For my actual birthday, we started out with a trip to get birthday breakfast. I chose to get donuts from a donut shop close to our house, Howard's Donuts.
Look at this coconut donut… so YUM!
I wish it would have been nice out and we could have sat under the umbrella and ate at Howard's, but it was drizzling rain--which then affected what we were planning on doing for part of the afternoon--go bike riding down the Wolf River Greenway. When it stopped raining and kinda cleared up, we'd check the radar and there'd be another strip of rain shortly coming through. I would have HATED to get stuck 10+ miles out and then have a downpour! So since the bike riding wasn't going to work out, we went to Target and got the final season of LOST and watched it on the rainy day. (We finished all the seasons… sad it was over, it was like we got so attached to the characters!)
For dinner we headed to J. Alexander's, one of my favs. It is only 4.6 miles from our home, so that worked out perfect for us! (Troy's hair kinda looks silly in the picture, haha, its still wet!)
Their best/our fav appetizer, spinach con queso!
I'm 22, hey!!
My only disappointment of the birthday dinner was that they had a different menu than the one that I usually go to off West End, so they didn't have the Caprese Salad that I LOVE! I guess the menus vary by location… so I got what was most similar and it was still delish!
After dinner we went to Muddy's to get birthday cupcakes!
Plain Jane, Prozac (that was Troy's… thought it was fitting since he might prescribe that some day) and Flopsy. (Yes, if one of them was Troy's then that means two of them were for me!)
Gift time: I got a Michael Kors purse from the Watson's and tickets to see Brad Paisley and The Band Perry at Snowden Grove Amphitheater from Troy!
Troy's birthday face!
Friday my parents came in for the weekend. That night T had to work so just us 3 went to eat at Huey's for dinner. It was their first Huey's experience and they LOVED it. (They almost wanted to go back Saturday for dinner, haha)
After dinner we ran a few places, including Target so dad could get his newest TV obsession, Walking Dead, season one on DVD. (Troy watches that show, which doesn't surprise me because he loves zombies, vampires, werewolves, talking dragons, etc., but my dad watching TV about zombies? He usually likes shows like 24, 30 Rock, and Mad Men. I didn't think zombies were an interest of his).
Macy came along for the trip. She loved being at "Lauren's house".
Saturday morning we got up and had a big breakfast at the Pickens.
(You can kinda see… she grabbed our hands right before we took the picture… so sweet!)
After breakfast, we went back to our house to open presents from my parents.
They got me a tote bag that's the same print as my duffle and travel wallet (that I used on our honeymoon)
And a new monogrammed Tervis just like my old one, but with my new monogram!

For lunch we took Mom and Dad to eat at our favorite bbq place-Central BBQ and then took them to Jerry's for snow cones.
Even while it rains, there's a line for Jerry's. They LOVED Jerry's, especially my mom. She loves ice, period. Example: this.
Troy had to leave straight from Jerry's to go to work so it was me and my parents the rest of the day. We shopped around at Pottery Barn, TJ Maxx and a few others.
For dinner we went and ate mexican. They both have to use "readers" now, aren't they cute?!
This morning we sent my parents back on their way, went to church, ate waffles, took afternoon naps (the best on Sundays), and chilled before Troy headed to work.
Now I gotta go and start the laundry--washing the bedding from the guest bedroom--we got visitors coming this weekend again!
