A couple in our Sunday School class had a baby, so I signed up to take them dinner yesterday.
I made them some of my favorites...
and my favorite salad.
(and bought chocolate chip cookies from Sam's bakery)
I thought I would share the dressing I use on my favorite salad.
It's easy peasy and so good!
Ingredients:
1/2 c. oil (salad or vegetable)
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. red wine vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce
black pepper
Mix before tossing in salad (it will separate over time)
I like putting it on a romaine lettuce salad with broccoli and a coleslaw mix (cabbage, carrots, etc).
It's also really yummy to take a bag of Ramen noodles, crunch them up, brown them with butter in a pan on the stove, and top the salad with the crunchy noodles.
Here recently I've gotten this bag at Sam's Club and added the wontons and sliced toasted almonds (instead of the Ramen noodles/forgoing the dressing that's included in the package if I've made this dressing)
You should try it... its really so good!
And just for fun... here's the little squirt who's Mommy and Daddy the meal was for!
Laine, Abby, and Robin--I know you're jealous.
