What a crazy ride its been... but we're happy to announce
Raleigh May Watson
will be joining our family in just 7 days!
It hasn't really happened like we anticipated, but we are getting our sweet puppy nonetheless.
And hey, this whole "hasn't really happened like we anticipated" is a common theme 'round here.
We don't do conventional. We don't do typical. We don't do customary. We don't do mainstream.
We do crazy.
Like Hunter Hayes says, "It ain't right if you ain't lost your mind."
And sometimes T and I have to ask each other… "Have we, in fact, lost our minds?!"
And on that note… Raleigh has something to say to you guys:
After getting this email, I forwarded it to T… "We got us a screamer haha" ;) Lord have mercy on us!
(I really think she just needs to go potty!)
Anywho, we are getting "puppy ready."
So far we have her crate, crate pad, collar, leash, toys, nylabones, bed (thanks Brittany, Lawson, A, and A!), and food and water bowls.
We are going to try and train her to use a "doggie doorbell".
Rather than buying the $20+ doorbells, last week, Mom and I created our own version.
I used scrap fabric from Arden's burp cloths, bought 2 key rings for 99 cents total and a bag of 8 bells for about $2.50 total and made 2 doorbells! Boom.
And sweet Whitney gave us a "baby shower gift"--yes I'm quoting her--for our baby puppy.
I especially love the tote… perfect for when she visits Nana and Papa and Mimi and ________. (My Dad doesn't have a grandparent name yet. He needs to work on that.) (He's probably cringing at the fact that a 50+ lb dog will be IN his house, whether she is invited or not :))
Raleigh, we can't wait to meet you!
