Today my husband had to bury his dog he got in 3rd grade in the backyard of the home he had lived in since 4th grade.
He had to say goodbye to his first dog--Brownie.
She was a pound puppy that his parents rescued and surprised T with her for Christmas.
I've seen the video taping footage of T receiving Brownie... she was in a gift box and everything.
That little pound puppy ended up living a long and happy 15 year life.
As I reflect on Brownie and her life, I can't help but think we are all "Brownies".
We're all little pound puppies--our days are numbered. (Job 14:5)
Our futures look helpless and grim.
None of us are exempted from this thing called death.
But then someone came to us and changed everything for us.
God says, "I choose you!"
"I have come to save you!"
"Come to me--I will receive you."
"I will care for you."
"Trust me to be in charge of your life and I will give you life--an abundant life!"
Brownie, my husband sure loved you! Enjoy puppy heaven--I hope there are unlimited hot dogs and that you're able to chase your tail for 10,000 years and then forevermore!
