Oh me… birthdays get kinda weird as you get older, haha! Throughout the week, I kept forgetting 'my day' was that Friday. Troy was the one reminding me!
During the day both of us worked, but we celebrated by going to Chick-fil-a's "Cow Appreciation Day" for dinner.
When my Mom called me that morning to wish me a "happy birthday" and asked how we were celebrating for dinner, I told her our plans. Her reply was "Nuuuu uhhh. You're not going to CFA for you birthday dinner... are you really?!" And I told her by-golly, yes we were! I mean, how blessed was I that Cow Appreciation Day and my 23rd birthday fell on the exact same day?! Beyond blessed.
You better believe I was dressed up as a cow on my 23rd.
(And just for fun… this was us last year :) We put even more effort in this years costume. Next year we're renting cow costumes. I kid.)
Enough cows. Back to my birthday.
After dinner, I opened presents...
...then we made blackberry cobbler for dessert. I'll post the recipe soon!
Low key birthday, but I'mma pretty simple gal.
I felt loved and celebrated, and that's all that matters in my book :)
Saturday, my parents came down to visit--which really is a story within its self. They were coming, then they weren't, then they were, then they weren't… THEN THEY REALLY DID COME!
We went to dinner at Houston's
Then we did something that I don't even know how to post about. It was like a Seinfeld episode. All I know is at one point, the question was asked, "Is this part of the foot massage?!?!" and there was A LOT OF LAUGHING INVOLVED.
That night we played Headbanz--and I wish I could upload the vine and instagram video from that. That game is fun(ny)!
Sunday morning we went to church then had a surprise birthday lunch planned with the Pickens at Belmont Grill.
I had a great birthday weekend! Thanks for all the calls, texts, messages, cards, and gifts to celebrate my 23 times around the sun! Here's to the 24th go round!
