Yesterday, Janie and I spent most of our day outside. It was so nice out! We got kinda messy mixing water, mud, grass, leaves, and flowers. This was when she'd tell me: "You da kid. I da mom. Its hot, (her pail she's stirring with a shovel) don't touch, or you'll be in BIG TROUBLE!" Haha… I wonder if she's heard that before? Probably so, while one of her favs--ramen noodles or boiled eggs are on the stove.
I went to the clinic today then ran some errands on the way home.
One of which included going to Target for a few things.
And I found these and couldn't resist buying.
The verdict is: they're really good and you should try them!
They make me feel less guilty snacking on because of the brown rice.
They also had a "brown rice baked with sweet potato" that was Roasted Sweet Onion. Those sounded really good, too!
Another errand included this:
dropping 2 envelopes off at the post office for my "two moms".
Because, hey, nothing says "Happy Mother's Day" like a bubble mailer envelope!
(P.S. Sunday is Mother's Day. Don't forget!!!)
After errands, I came home to a freshly mowed lawn and T out in the driveway with his shop vac, working on his car.
He took a break and we went for a run at Shelby Farms.
Because the couple that runs together, stays together.
After sucking wind, we went home, washed and shop vac-ed my car, then ate dinner.
Homemade salsa was on the menu.
I've posted my recipe here.
T always requests it to be spicier, so I added diced jalapenos this time. (and made it almost too spicy for me, go figure)
(I also used a large can of diced tomatoes instead of the 3 large fresh tomatoes this time.)
Mid-week… yay! A fun weekend for me is approaching!
