My phone pictures from this week are a disappointment. It was a "run around like a chicken with your head cut off" kinda week. Whipping out the phone for bloggable moments took the back burner. So this is what I got…
Troy and I watched The Oscars Sunday night. The only "Oscar winning" movies we saw were Life of Pi--which he enjoyed, and I fell asleep in, and (as of Friday night) Silver Linings Playbook. We both enjoyed that one! I actually really really liked it. Its both theater and Redbox worthy if you haven't seen it already. (and if you can't tell, it takes 8 eyes to watch the Academy Awards)
Janie reading me Diary of a Whimpy Kid--Books and rocking chairs make me think of Ms. Jones, her drowned-in-hairspray hair, and her library at Indian Lake. Among all the shelves of books--color coded with stickers indicating reading levels (which either elevated or crushed your self esteem as a 7 year old), there was a little reading area where she'd read to us in a big rocking chair. Next to the big rocking chair, was a little rocking chair. Based on good behavior, one lucky classmate got the privilege to sit in the little rocking chair as she read in the big rocking chair--allowing you to gaze at your deviant friends. It was a good library day if you sat in the little rocking chair.
Elisabeth and I cuddled on a blanket pallet and watched Lady and the Tramp. I hadn't seen that movie in forever--and didn't remember it being so sad! Lady was her owners's baby until they actually had a human baby-then Lady was booted-outdoor doghouse and all. I mean really, so sad! But I did love (and remember) the singing Siamese cats. "We are Siamese if you please. Dum dum dum dum dum. We are Siamese if you don't please."
Whitney so lovingly documented this moment. And I didn't even know so until she sent me this picture mail as we were leaving church for the night. Riley was enjoying himself by stacking plastic food from the kitchen on my head. I just went with it, kinda like how I went with it when (last week) I picked up Violet and became aware that she had had a (small) potty accident because my shirt became damp. It happens, just go with it.
And my #throwbackthursday for the week. Tim and I at the beach. I'm rocking an Osh Kosh B'gosh swimsuit and he's rocking the Ray Bans. Its also safe to say we're rocking the hairdo. Get me a comb and get him some clippers
Happy Saturdaying!
