I was looking for something in the drawer of our desk/hutch/thing the other day and came across these items.
It was like a time machine zip lock baggie.
Inside it were random things I had given to Troy throughout our dating years. Most was from high school. It made my heart happy that he had kept these things all these years… and that they even made their way to Memphis when he initially moved back in 2011.
I thought I'd share a few, for memories sake. (T would probably die if he knew I was doing this. He doesn't check my blog enough to even know what's on here. He's a pretty private person/like I've said before… his response in regards to this blog is, "why would I take time to read about my life… to read about things I already know, already saw, and have already done?" Valid statement. I can't really argue with him there… so, Troy, if you're reading… I love you, and to answer your question, yes I AM CRAZY!)
The poem I wrote to surprise him with a trip to see the Cowboys play in Dallas!
Some random note I left him on his car while he was at baseball practice in hs. Its funny I can remember this! It was a joke because I really didn't like him playing baseball… it was too boring for me. I definitely preferred watching him play football and basketball in high school!
I love how its signed L.Hayes… I kinda miss that! (Les, I know you do, too… you use to call me that a lot!)
For Vday, I made a list of 101 things I loved about him. "I love you because…" Serious and silly. Funny how lots of these are still the same, although I could def add some more!
A more serious piece of paper. I gave this to him in high school… qualities I wanted in who I dated and likewise, who I married. Hindsight, if I could add one more, it'd be professional back-scratcher :)
I love this one-- a card wishing him well on his PCAT! And looky there… he did well, got in Pharm School, and here we are in Memphis! Who woulda thunk it?!
From college, Haha this card is funny… would have been even better if he would have given it to me!
Random notebook paper filled with quotes/verses that I love that I sent to him while he was at Bethel and I was at UT. Don't know what happened to get all that blue/green on it!
And the grand finally… this is two flaps of a Birthday/Dating Anniversary card I gave him in college… so funny! And semi-inappropriate, but in a good way. I still laugh...
Love my boy and can't believe he's kept these little treasures all these years. Actually… when I think about the fact that he (as blogged about previously) carried the same backpack for 10+ years, wore basketball shoes that were 5+ years old, wore football cleats that were 8+ years old, it doesn't surprise me all that much :)
