I spent most of my yesterday with my friend Whitney (who is also blogging now and posted about our little adventure yesterday. Check out what she had to say about our fun day!) shopping for the family we're adopting.
Whitney talked to the mother of the family on the phone the other day and said she's so sweet and was so very thankful and grateful for us helping her out this Christmas season.
She has three children that we bought for plus we got her a Kroger gift card that she can use for gas and groceries :)
The oldest boy really wanted a bike so thats what we got him.
His mom said he would ride his bike to work a lot but it recently got stolen so he's really wanting/needing a new one!
We also got him a lock for his bike and a sweatshirt :)
The middle child really wanted an electric scooter. We found one online at Walmart that was a pretty good deal so we got him that plus a Nike t-shirt. Plus, a movie that both boys would enjoy. (And Whitney, I got the email today saying the scooter has been shipped :))
And the little girl really wanted a Bible and art and craft supplies. So we got her a Bible from Lifeway that's purple (her fav color) and has these cute little butterflies/dragonflies with her full name put on it, some art/craft supplies, some nail polish, this cute little Hello Kitty thing with folders, pencils, a pencil sharpener, ruler, erasers, etc, a movie, socks, jeans, 2 shirts, and a jacket.
We had such a great time shopping for the family and wrapping the gifts! Sometime in the next week or so we plan for all 4 of us to go and deliver to the family :)
