It's Football Time in TENNESSEE!

This weekend I went to Knoxville for the Vols' first game of the season! Katie, Kiersten, and I left Friday afternoon after Katie got out of class. It only took us about 2.5 hours to get to Knox from M'boro! I was surprised--for some reason I thought it would take about the same time it took for me to get to Knoxville from my house. I'm glad it turned out to be shorter! :)

When we got into town, I had K and K drop me off at Sunspot to have dinner with some of my favsss--Leslie, Laine, Abby, and Robin. (Robin will hate being named last.) I LOVE SUNSPOT and I LOVE THOSE GIRLS so I felt perfectly content. After dinner, you know we went to get fro yo, because we're not officially in Knoxville until we've had some. We went to 3 Spoons, a new yogurt place they opened on the strip. It was really good--a mix between Menchie's and Sweet Cece's I would say. I think 3 Spoons may now be my favorite. I got Original Tart/NY Cheesecake with strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple. It was de-lishh. I loved just sitting outside, with amazing weather, talking and catching up, with surprise friend visits, and people-watching on the strip the night before game day. Loved it. Again, felt perfectly content.

Afterwards, Robin, Abby and I went back to Robin's apartment just to chill and chat. We literally talked until I fell asleep. On the couch. Without washing my face or brushing my teeth. Ew.

In the morning Robin, Abby, Jenn, Sarah, and I went to Gourmet('s) Market for brunch. We sat outside AGAIN and it felt amazing. I had never been there before, but I really liked the atmosphere. I got oatmeal and fresh fruit. Yummmy.

After brunch, Robin and I went back to her apartment to get ready for COLLEGE GAME DAY! I love Knoxville on game days. There is definitely an energy about it. And I feel like the city almost revolves around game day. After getting ready and having a late lunch, we headed out to tailgate before the game.

A little after 5 we headed for the stadium. I was so excited to see the finished product. There has been construction on/around the stadium for what seems like forever. They are finally about finished and it looks awesome!
I absolutely love UT football. Even though I might not know all the football rules and calls, or I might not completely pay attention to the game the whole time, I love UT football. I love the atmosphere. I love the hype. I love the tradition. I love the heart. I love the loyalty. I love Rocky Top. I love the obnoxious orange. I just love it. I love the band playing on the field before the game starts... always playing the same songs and performing the same formations. All Time Favorite=the band forming the "T" and all the athletes running out. Chill bumps.

The game turned out to be not much of a game with the final score of 50-0! UT shut out UTM. I'm glad UT started out so strong and I can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out. GO BIG ORANGE!
After the game, Robin and I headed to the strip to stand in the typical "after-game-long-line" to get Moe's. Then we went back to the apartment, changed, and headed to Abby's house. I love the idea of having a house in college (opposed to an apartment). I think if I would have stayed in Knoxville this year I would be living in a house.

Sunday felt more like a Saturday, knowing we did not have school the next day. Robin and I slept in and then ran some errands and got Jason's Deli for lunch. We ate patio side yet AGAIN because the weather was incredible all weekend!
After lunch, we chilled, napped, and watched TV before getting ready for BOOM'S DAY! Laine came over and then we headed to the "corner house" AKA Sarah, Amy Beth, Sara, and Becca's house. We visited for a while then headed to G-10 to get a better view of the fireworks. G-10 was packed and we ended up seeing a ton of people there!
us4:)
Why is Leslie so stylish?
I finally found SB!
Monday morning Abby, Laine, Leslie, Robin and I had breakfast at Trio in Market Square before I headed back West. I'm so thankful for all the friendships I have at UT. What a great weekend in Knoxville! I love being there. Love itttt.
