First Football Weekend

It all started Thursday when I traveled to McKenzie with Troy's parents for his first football game of the season.  There is a lot, well a whole lot, to what I'm about to type, but I find it unnecessary to explain the whole situation... but Troy is out for the rest of the season. He has torn his rotator cuff and has surgery scheduled in early September. I am bummed/disappointed beyond words. But like I have to keep reminding myself time and time again, He has a plan! A perfect plan--with great hope and a promising future! Right now I'm a little confused as to why He's choosing to go this route, but I know without a shadow of doubt, there's a reason! God works for the good of those who love him--and we love him! So he's gonna work out that good and show it to us!!!

Words that have been much encouragement to me:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8

I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see because this broken road prepares your will for me. -Jeremy Camp

Disappointments are not failures... they're just God's way of saying: "I've got something better!"

After rereading that, I am reminded to take heart because everything is under control, not under my control, which I struggle with sometimes, but under the control of someone that's an even better planner than I am! If you can believe that ;)

Back to the subject of football. One of my favorite things of fall. Bethel played a school out of Chicago and ended up losing 49-32. Troy got to go in for a one series in the 2nd quarter and drove the ball down for a TD! So happy that I got to see his last plays this season and that he finished strong with a touchdown. So proud of him!

Whatta stud!

MY boy of fall :)
about to score a TD!
Friday night was another football night. Troy drove to M'boro and met me for the HHS vs. Riverdale game. I was glad he didn't have football on Saturday so he could head back to middle Tennessee for a few days. We spent Saturday back in H'ville and did the "dinner-ana-movie" thing that night. Today, we went to church then headed our separate ways back to school.

Once I got back to M'boro, I ran a few errands with two of my roommates. I got my nails done and had dinner with them at a Mexican restaurant. As I drive/ride around town more and more, I get a little more adjusted to the area. Before soon, I hope to know where everything is!

First day of school tomorrow! AHH! I feel like a freshman all over againnnn! Wish me luck!
