The ceremony: First Baptist Church Hendersonville
Yes, this is a very large sanctuary. In fact, it seats 2,000 people. We're hoping with the softer lighting and having the ushers seat the guests strategically, it won't seem so large. We went back and forth on having our ceremony here or at Scarritt Bennett, a beautiful church in Nashville. When we visited SB, we thought it was BEAUTIFUL and would make for a more intimate ceremony (seats 300), but it didn't mean anything to us. FBCH is where we have both grown up going to church, where both of our familes goes, where we were baptized, etc. It is too sentimental for us to NOT get married there. So we made our decision, and as of now, are very pleased!
The reception: The Club at Fairvue Plantation
Fairvue is just 5 miles down the road from FBCH, so we thought it would be convenient for all of our wedding guests. Plus, it's just beautiful. We had the choice of having the reception outdoor or indoor, and opted for the indoor. I'm just too nervous about having anything outdoor! I feel like I'll have enough to worry about that I CAN control, that I don't want to have to worry about the weather, something I can't control anyways. The downside... having it inside could create a spacing issue. Moving the furniture around and using it more efficiently will help, but we're still going to have to adjust our numbers based on the spacing we'll have. We have met with the food/beverage manager, event coordinator, and chef and have the menu set (for the most part). I think everything is going to turn out great! What else... I'm 98% positive I have found my dress. All I'm going to say is, we found it Saturday at Arzelles, so that just allows you to look at the many designers and many gowns to make your guesses. I don't think I'm going to show anyone my exact dress until our big day!
I'm also 70% sure I've picked out the bridesmaid dresses. They are Dessy and can be ordered from Arzelles. What to share on these... they are simple. They are floor length. And they are charcoal gray. That's all for now.
We've narrowed our band selection down to 3... one from Chattanooga, one from Memphis, and one from Knoxville. We just really need to commit and make our decision. I think all 3 of our choices are great!
I've really debated on what all I want to share on the blog during this whole process. I want everyone to be surprised and not know EVERYTHING on our big day, but I also think it's exciting to keep people informed. Decisions... decisions...
Welp, that's all for now. My birthday is TUESDAY and I'll be 21! A bride a 21... I like it. :)
