I'll be honest. I love to shop. Maybe too much. But the thing is, as much as I love shopping, I especially love getting really good deals. That's probably my favorite thing about shopping, more than actually getting new products. I just love finding good steals.
Now, I'm no high-end-runway-fashionista-know-it-all, but I really do love fashionable clothes and shoes, and the idea of expressing your style through what you wear.
Here's another confession. I love brand names.
More than just my love for brand names, I love purchasing brand name items at discount stores. I.e. T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and Ross. Those are probably my top 3 favorite stores, just because you can get such a variety of different clothing and styles and brands at one store!
T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are known for having popular name brands at discount prices, but Ross is usually under the radar. People don't think of it as a store that would carry designer items. Let me enlighten you. Ross does occassionally have really good designer brands, you just have to be prepared to "dig". And that's my favorite part. "Digging".
On a recent (can't say my most recent...ooops.) "digging" extravaganza, these are some of the items I purchased.
Jessica Simpson Dress Originally $138.00. At Ross $29.99
BCBG Dress Orginally $240.00. At Ross $19.99
Havianas Originally $28.00. At Ross $5.99
Ugg sandals Originally $90.00 At Ross $39.99
Michael Kors watch Originally $180.00. At Ross $89.99
[Interesting marketing concept: Last semester, when I was taking Principles of Marketing, we learned about different pricing tactics. One pricing tactic is called odd-even pricing. This is a form of psychological pricing that suggests buyers are more sensitive to certain ending digits. For example, odd pricing (i.e. $29.99) implies that the consumer is getting a bargain. Even pricing (i.e. $180.00) imples that the consumer is getting a quality product. The brand name prices and the Ross prices are a perfect example of this! Okay... enough Marketing Education, but hey! Atleast it shows that I've learned something! haha.]
So...
Total original prices $676.00
Total Ross prices $185.95
I SAVED A TOTAL OF $490.05!
I can't take all the credit on the cash saved. I learned from the best. Mom, you've taught me well. :)
Happy shopping!
