This past weekend I headed to Memphis with Troy for his Pharmacy Weekend. It was a weekend filled with information and events for all P-0's before they become P-1's in the fall. To my surprise, it was actually a really fun weekend! There were different events scheduled... like a Casino night Friday night and a formal hosted by one of the pharmacy fraternities Saturday night. At first, Troy and I were both hesitant on going... we thought not many people would actually go to the events and it might be awkward. Turns out EVERYONE goes... even upperclass students... and they were legitimate parties! We had a great time!
The new Pharmacy building is almost complete! Troy's so excited to have a brand new, state-of-the-art building. His class (c/o 2015) will be the first class to have a new building throughout their whole schooling.
While we were there, we also went apartment hunting. We looked at apartments downtown and also on Mud Island. Both areas were really neat... downtown obviously had the trendy/"hustle and bustle" feel and Mud Island reminded me a lot of a quaint community on the coast... very nautical/beachy. As of now, Troy is leaning more towards living downtown, specifically living at Gayoso House apartments. It's in the heart of downtown Memphis and just minutes away from campus.

No matter where he ends up, I'm looking forward to visiting him when our schedules allow it. (Next semester is going to be crazy for us... I'll be student teaching and he'll be in his first year of Pharmacy school. I'll be lucky to see him!) There are so many things to do in Memphis... and I'm excited to explore the city with him! I can already tell (when I visit) I'm going to love all the eateries around downtown and enjoy spending time by the river on Mud Island.
